The first flight to Ireland 1910. Speaker Eddie Little
In 1910, a pioneering aviator achieved the first manned flight to Ireland, crossing the Irish Sea in a fragile early aeroplane. Battling wind, navigation uncertainty, and limited engine reliability, the journey proved heavier-than-air flight could link Britain and Ireland. The successful crossing captured public imagination, advanced aviation credibility, and demonstrated the strategic potential of aircraft for travel, communication, and future military and commercial use during the early twentieth century era.
